Welcome! At Saint Therese Carmelite School we offer a Classical Education. Deeply rooted in Carmelite spirituality, we seek to form students in faith, academics, and virtue through a Classical education. Because we partner with our parents, the primary educators of their children, to achieve these goals, parents of our students must have a commitment to this vision as expressed in our Mission and Philosophy and our Family Handbook. Upon discerning that our school may be a good fit for your family, please begin as follows:
Call the office at (626) 289-3364 to arrange for a personalized tour of the school
Please fill out the Family Application 2018-2019 form for each new student (Grades K-8). Siblings of current students or additional sibling applicants complete the Sibling Application 2018-19. Return applications to the school with the following documents:
Once the completed application, with all required documentation attached for each student, has been turned in, the family may choose to schedule an appointment for the student to visit his/her prospective class for a half day at the school’s discretion.
The committee will review the completed application and all submitted documents. Upon completion of review, the family will be contacted for a final interview of both parents and student with the Director of Admissions and the Principal.
The Admissions Committee reviews the applicant’s file according to the admission criteria and makes a recommendation of acceptance, conditional acceptance, wait-listed, or declined. The final decision on admission rests with the principal. The school will inform the parents of the school’s decision to either admit or decline. Decisions are made within two weeks of the formal interview.
Candidates who meet admissions criteria and are placed on a waiting list, will be called when an opening occurs. Selection will be based on admissions criteria.
New students are accepted to St. Therese Carmelite School on the basis of test results, recommendations, report cards, and the formal interview and are recognized in the following order:
All students new to the school are accepted on probation for the first year.
When admitted, the school will send the family an acceptance packet that includes:
The parents shall sign the contract and return it to the school with a non-refundable registration fee of $100. An office administrator signs the contract on behalf of the school and sends the parents a copy of the executed contract. Registration is not considered final until all required registration forms have been completed and returned to the school office by the deadlines specified by the school. St. Therese Carmelite School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs; although certain athletic leagues and other programs may limit participation and some archdiocesan schools operate as single sex schools.
